Hours Of Operation, Rules & Regulations 

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS

SECTION 1 - The exhibition will be open to the public on Monday, September 27th, and close on Sunday,
                         October 3rd. All exhibits must be ready prior to 4:00 P.M. Monday.

SECTION 2 - Gates will be open at 5 P.M. Monday and at 12:00 noon on each day thereafter. Sunday

                          the gate will open at 1:00 P.M. The doors of the exhibit buildings will be closed at 10:00P.M. daily.

SECTION 3 - Appliances necessary for the proper exhibition of article in the various departments

                         will be provided b the Manager upon requisition from the Superintendent of the department.

SECTION 4 - When the fair is ended all articles not called for by exhibitors shall be properly cared

                         for by the Superintendent of department or turn over to the Manager. No Superintendent of

                         department shall leave his post of duty without the consent of the Manager.

INFORMATION FOR EXHIBITORS

SECTION 5 - Premium lists will be sent by mail upon application to the Manager.

ENTRIES

SECTION 6 - Entries must be made on or before noon Monday, September 27th or subject to the

                         rules published in the different departments. A card or tag, having coupon receipt attached

                         corresponding to the entry, will be given to the exhibitor. When the exhibitor delivers the articles

                         and entry card to the Superintendent or person in charge at the proper exhibition hall, the article will

                        be received, tagged and put in position. The coupon receipt after being signed will be given to the

                        exhibitor. Articles will be surrendered only upon return of this receipt.

LOSSES

SECTION 7 - It has been necessary for the Board of Directors of the Orangeburg County Fair to

                        announce that the Orangeburg County Fair will not be responsible to any person, individual,

                        corporation or association for loss by either fire, theft, damage, or by personal injury sustained

                        through the negligence of any person or group of persons, exhibits or exhibitors.

                        While the Orangeburg County Fair will give adequate police protection and take such precautionary

                        measures as is consistent in the operation of the Orangeburg County Fair, the Fair Board positively

                        will not be responsible for these occurrences under any circumstances, and upon these conditions

                        only are entries received and tickets for personal admission sold.

SECTION 8 – No person will be allowed to distribute any printed or advertising matter on the

                         Fairgrounds or in the buildings, except that an exhibitor may hand out advertising matter of his own

                        business from the space occupied by his exhibit. Anyone found tacking up advertising matter on

                        buildings, trees or elsewhere on the grounds, or distributing the same promiscuously, will be taken

                        into custody.

SECTION 9 – Exhibitors may advertise and distribute matter from their place of exhibit only. Oral

                        and visual advertising, and distributed materials must be in good taste, must be neutral or positive,

                        and may not be defamatory, derogatory, promiscuous, pornographic, obscene, profane or vulgar.

                        Exhibitors may promote their own products or activity, but may not disparage others.

SECTION 10 – The management reserves the right to exclude from the grounds any person or

                        material that management may deem undesirable, profane, obscene, or otherwise not in keeping

                        with decorum, decency, or the generally accepted morals of our community. Further, the use of

                        intoxicating beverages or drugs on the grounds is strictly prohibited.

SECTION 11 – No delivery trucks or cars will be allowed on Main or Independent Midways for the

                        purpose of delivering after 2:00 P.M. Anyone selling or delivering anything on the Fairgrounds must

                        have arrangements made under this policy, in case of unforeseen circumstance then prior

                        authorization must be made by the Fair Manager.

SECTION 12 – All commercial exhibits must in place no later than 2:00 P.M. Monday, September

                        27th. Failure to have the exhibit in place at the time forfeits all rights to the premises as well as the

                        payment made. No exhibit or commercial displays will be removed from the Exhibit Buildings

                        before Monday, October 4th ,after 8:00 A.M.

SECTION 13 – On and after the closing day of the Fair, the Superintendent of each department will

                        pay to the successful exhibitor all premiums won in any department at the time when the exhibits are

                        called for. If you do not receive your premium at that time, write the Superintendent of the

                        Department.

INFORMATION VISITORS

SECTION 14 – Application for special privileges on the grounds must be made to the Manager.

SECTION 15 – Exhibitors are not entitled to free admission by virtue of being exhibitors, but they

                        may purchase exhibitor’s tickets which are not transferable.

The Orangeburg County Fair office will be open at the fairgrounds on Monday at 9:00AM, and closed at 10:30PM and each day thereafter.

All exhibits that are not cataloged in the Premium List shall be classified by the Manager in the most suitable department, and exhibition tags given for the same such exhibits will not be listed in the premium entry books, but, if receiving SPECIAL mention from the Committee, the same will be listed in the Premium List for the next year.
